House of Shalimar is Ithaca’s original import boutique. They offer fun, funky fashion, jewelry, gifts and selected home accessories from around the world. House of Shalimar has been one of the longest running retail businesses in the Downtown Ithaca business district. We recently worked on a rebranding campaign for the store, including a new logo and website.

Logo

Details / The House of Shalimar has been an Ithaca landmark since the 1970’s. For decades they used a black and white illustration of the Hindu Goddess Durga as their logo. When we updated the logo, we chose to keep true to their roots by using Durga, but reinventing her with a more feminine look, and give the logo a fun, ornate, and modern style. The new logo connects with the store’s history, but brings the store to where they are now.

Details / The simple brochure site we designed for House of Shalimar uses colors and textures that play off of the name and logo. Eventually the site will house an online shop, but for now it gives visitors a look at the personality of the shop, the brands they’re carrying, sales promotions, and the shop history.
